The ARTIMUSICA foundation stimulates and facilitates the exchange between and education in the arts and music. The foundation organises events on the intersection of arts and music with special care for mutual inspiration and motivation of musicians, artists and the public.
The foundation takes as its starting point the significance of art in every day life. Starting from this insight the foundation wishes to contribute to the preservation and innovation of musical heritage. The foundation also aims the development of new ways of communicating between art, music and the audience. ARTIMUSICA is a space where artists and public meet and interact, enriching their experience and motivating each other for further exploration of the magic worlds of art and music.
ARTIMUSICA started off in 2004 with annual non-stop classical music marathons, the Arte della Musica festivals. The first editions took place in the historical surroundings of old Amsterdam in the fabulous Pianolamuseum, an intimate innercity venue well known as a stage for classical and jazz music as well as poetry nights. It proved the perfect space for intimate musical and poetic performance marathons. At the marathons classical works of well-known composers were presented by a new generation of young and promising virtuosos.
ARTIMUSICA was founded in 2004 on the initiative of Evelina Vorontsova, dutch-russian pianist, born in Moscow, living in Amsterdam since 1993. A former prizewinner of the Liszt and Rachmaninov competitions she is well known for her musical energy and performing talent. Knowing all the difficulties that young musicians face in their career and being truly devoted to music as a passion of life, she offers them advise and stage experience, By doing so, she aims to introduce high quality music to a broad audience and hopes to stimulate the artistic and musical awareness and appreciation in the Netherlands and beyond.
